It may be on, just the display may not be turning on. if that is the case, try this... 1. turn the laptop off (not sleep or hibernate but off). 2.. My asus x455l laptop does not turn on unless i insert the charger on it even though it has full battery. the issue happened wh; solved my asus gl522v laptop not turning on. it seems to charge fine. The charging circuit is under more load as the failing/failed battery pulls more power. what i find is this story is only told after the owners lose a motherboard to a too old battery..
